About Savannah

Meet Savannah - a stunning 3-year-old Bengal with lots of love to give, looking for her forever home! *** ONLY PET SYNDROME *** Savannah is a darling and beautiful Bengal who was rescued by her family in July of 2024. Her history at the time was unknown. The family who adopted her hoped that with long introductions, she may be able to adjust to their household that included 3 other cats and 4 dogs (who are still living separately from her). Unfortunately, they soon learned that Savannah is a VERY dominant gal when it comes to life with other cats. She does not want to share - something we see so often with Bengals who come to us for rescue / rehoming. We know that Savannah will live a very happy life in a home where she doesn't have to compete with others. Her family has so many wonderful things to tell us about her. Savannah loves fur mice toys and plastic springs. She loves, loves LOVES playing in tunnels. If you use a stick or wand to make noise or move in or under the tunnel, she thinks it is the best game ever. She can also entertain herself by playing with her toys. Savannah's owner tells us that she is very clever and so interesting. She has a strong personality that demands your love and loyalty, and she returns it kindly. She follows her owner all around the house even checks on her human when she goes to the bathroom. She purrs so much and sometimes gets so excited she drools. The owner says that she is a REALLY good girl and does not have a destructive nature. Like most Bengals she does not like to be picked up and held for very long. She can be chatty and has a special meow for everything. She likes pettings on her terms and will come to sleep by her owners. She will growl or hiss when she doesn't like something, so she's quite the communicator! She has not lived around children so we think she may do okay with older children who know how to interpret her body language when she's 'done' and wants to be left alone. As previously mentioned, Savannah has been living in a home that has three other cats and four dogs. The cats live upstairs, and the dogs live downstairs, so she has not had direct contact with the dogs. She's definitely seen them, and does not like it when the owner goes down to visit the dogs. Sadly - once Savannah got more comfortable in her home, she began attacking one of the resident females, establishing her dominance. The family can see that Savannah would be so much happier in a home where she'll get ALL the attention, and not have to share. For all of these reasons, Savannah is best-suited for being an only-cat. Savannah eats dry food; her owner says they have tried every kind of wet food, and she just will not eat any wet food / treats. She drinks from a water bowl and has not been interested in a water fountain either. All of these things are rather unusual, given that most Bengals prefer a protein-rich diet, and flowing water. Perhaps her new family will be able to work with her on these things. Otherwise, Savannah is a healthy cat who just wants to hang around and be part of the family. She is up to date on her vaccines, has been spayed and is microchipped. Savannah's quirky traits make her a one-of-a-kind companion. She'll be happiest in a peaceful home where she's the center of attention.
