Coral is a 35-40 lb heeler/border collie with a short, low-maintenance coat. She is an outgoing, fun-loving, silly love-bug. She is very affectionate and likes to give kisses, sometimes just as she is passing by. Coral is well adjusted and curious about the world, not much seems to faze her. She immediately settled in with her foster family including two dogs which she loves to play with. She even gets along with the bossy-pants dog that wants all the attention and toys. She crates easily and quietly and is house-trained. Coral knows some basic commands and walks well on leash, but can use a touch of polish on her manners. She gets a bit jumpy when excited, but she is very smart, treat motivated, and eager to please, so training will be a breeze. Coral has quickly learned the house rules at her foster home, like staying off the furniture and waiting at the door until she is invited through. She has done well off leash on the 25-acre farm she is currently staying at. She likes to explore but checks in often and comes easily when called. More than anything, she likes to be with her people. She has been exposed to donkeys, sheep, chickens, and barn cats on the farm. Coral ignores/avoids the donkeys and is semi-interested in the sheep. She would like to chase the chickens and cats, but more out of fun than prey drive, and is easily deterred. Any cat in the household will have to stand their ground and demand respect as she may be a bit too much energy for a shy or spooky kitty. Speaking of energy, Coral has her share and will require a good daily dose of exercise and opportunity to romp off leash. She'd make an excellent hiking or jogging buddy and with her athleticism, boldness, and desire to please, she'd also make a wonderful agility partner. Once she's had a good romp, she's happy to settle down and snuggle up. Her history with children is unknown, but given her confidence and sociability, she would probably do well with children with proper supervision and training. Overall, Coral is a fantastic dog, right out of the box. She'd be a good fit in most households and can't wait to meet her new forever family. Coral is being fostered in Aurora, Oregon and her adoption fee is $400.
