About Matilda

Meet Matilda, a sweet 4 1/2-year-old, 33lb cockapoo searching for her forever home! Previously purchased from a breeder, Matilda didn't receive the socialization she needed, making her a bit fearful and reactive on leash and around strangers. Sadly, this led to her being surrendered to a kill shelter, where she was mistakenly labeled as aggressive. With her caring foster, Matilda has been improving and is now ready for a patient owner who can continue her training. It's important to note that Matilda has a bite history; this occurred when a stranger ignored her 'leave me alone' warnings. However, she's incredibly smart, affectionate, and loves her people deeply. Matilda would do best in a home with children over 13 and no cats. She's tolerant of her foster's dog, so she could live with a resident dog if properly introduced-ideally one that would give her space when needed. If you can provide Matilda with a loving and understanding environment, she will thrive and reward you with endless loyalty!
