King Rex is so loved by me but is not able to be a dog in this home. He treats my 9-yr old child like a pack mate. He loves kids but forgets they are humans sometimes this has caused concerns in our home. He is crate trained Lately he has been showing alpha behavior towards my daughter and it is not slowing down. He does not display aggressive behavior to anybody outside of the house. He is loved at boarding and plays so well with others. My husband is away working most of the time. When he is home, home King Rex shows tremendous adoration, but my husband only gives a few minutes of attention. He has sporadic allergy issues so stays away from him. King Rex loves men he meets outside on walks. He would do well with someone who could play in a fenced in area. He loves to be unleashed in a dog park He is very behaved with other dogs and has boarded where there have been cats. He does not show any aggressive interest in wild animals and is a goofy happy guy 99% of the time. It's us that make this situation difficult. He needs much more than we can give him. He had ACL surgery in early September due to colliding with my child at the park who fell on top of him. He is healing nicely. Still has Bull Terrier/puppy energy. If not for the collision he wouldn't have had any issues. Very fit, sturdy and strong 55 Lb doggie. It is a very painful situation for us. He is not living his best life which is to be able to be a dog. He is so controlled and contained in this house. It is not a healthy environment for a dog with so much love, and affection to give. We are worried that he will continue to get more aggressive as he matures due to our inability to provide a little more freedom. HE definitely will do amazingly in a dog friendly environment. He really is a silly love bug that needs affection and interaction.
