About Teddie

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION 1 year old male Terrier mix, about 12 pounds. Meet Teddie. He is around 1 yr old and 12 lbs. of energy and attitude. He loves to play tug of war and having you throw the ball. He will also get the zoomies around the house or yard. He respects your time outs and will wait for you to play again. Teddie is totally devoted to his person but has major issues with other people coming into what he calls 'home'. He is very treat-motivated which will help with the continued training and discipline he will need in this regard. He loves going for walks but does tend to be leash reactive. Teddie loves his food and treats and will bounce off the cabinets while you are getting things ready and then will sit quietly waiting for you to give it to him. He also loves playing in the water and will jump for joy while you are trying to water your yard. He has no issues getting wet or the rain. Teddie will sleep in his kennel at night but would rather be on the bed with you. He knows how to use a doggie door and has a signal for potty outside, but he will also go on a pad, if you don't let him out in time. Teddie would prefer a home with a yard and no children. He does fine with other dogs and loves to play. But he could be a solo dog, as well. He is a very confident dog and trends toward a ton of attitude. He will need a confident adopter to help him understand his place in the world. Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
