LOCATION: Pinehurst, TX DOB: 09/27/2023 Howdy y'all! My name is Birdie Kate. I'm from the streets of Houston and found myself behind bars, possibly for petty theft as I tend to steal food and Amazon packages. I prefer the term professional counter surfer. Then this really cool organization with amazing volunteers stepped up and advocated for my chance at life and a freedom ride. Next thing I know, I'm being picked up by random strangers and headed north to the suburbs of Houston. They say it's the Tomball/Magnolia area. I currently reside at a hostel with other humans and six fur friends. Rumor has it, three of the bossy girls are also former street girls and they are keeping me in check. Those bossy girls keep reminding me, 'BK, it's not your way,' whatever that means. There's only one guy, he's young and full of energy like me. There's also this thing they call a cat. The cat's pretty cool and I like to chase him around, but I just want to play and his food tastes really good too. This hostel has couches, beds, and more beds on the floor for us furry friends. I prefer to sleep with the humans and often sneak into bed after they have fallen asleep. I love to snuggle and love belly rubs. I love to play with toys and XL tennis balls. I've learned to share and play fetch with the toys and I like to entertain these humans with my juggling skills. I can also sit, shake, and pray for my breakfast and dinners they provide. I'm learning to trust people and other fur friends with slow introductions. With consistency, I go potty outside and I'm fully crate trained when the humans aren't home. Oh! You sat down! Perfect, I can sit on your lap. If I sit, I fit! Walks, oh I love those and I am learning to walk pretty. My foster family thinks a home without children would be best due to me working on something called resource guarding and I'm learning hands and arms aren't chew toys. I hope wherever my next adventure takes me, just know Texas has my heart and I also have a heart as big as Texas. For proof, I have a really cool tattoo of Texas with a heart on my neck. I hope you enjoyed hearing everything about me in hopes I can become your next velcro. P.S. My DNA results should be in soon and we'll find out what breed I actually am. Right now, they keep calling me a micro Dane or pint-sized Dane. All of our Great Danes are altered, if medically possible, fully vetted, micro-chipped, and on heartworm prevention or treatment prior to being adopted. Thank you for considering adopting a rescue dog, you're saving a life when you adopt. ========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .
