About Marmalade

Have you ever seen a post or an article about a cat or dog and a little voice whispered 'this is my cat!' Marmalade is looking for someone he can give his unconditional love to. If you love ginger cats, Marmalade is your boy. If you're looking for a companion to spend this cold winter with, Marmalade would love to cuddle with you in the bed or on your lap On his most recent vet visit, he wasn't scared and delighted the vet staff by rolling on his back for a tummy rub. As you can see in the photo, he loves the toys that one of our donors sent to him; it's probably the first ones that he's had in a long time. This sweet ginger boy has been in foster care since January, waiting for his angel to come and claim him. He was found this past winter in the cold and a kind person started feeding him and brought him indoors. We'll never understand why someone threw out this sweet boy like a piece of trash to fend for himself. He's so happy to be indoors and to have regular meals and a warm home to sleep. Marmalade was diagnosed with FIV; however, the veterinarian said his health is good. The veterinarian has estimated Marmalade's age at 6 and he weighs 14 lbs. The greatest problem with a FIV diagnosis is that people don't understand it. Many cats with FIV go on to live long lives without complications. And according to a study by Purdue University, one of the nation's leading veterinary training universities, they can live with unaffected cats and not transmit the virus . We hope that Marmalade's angel is on duty and you're listening for that voice. He's been in foster care longer than any cat in our rescue and we want to move him before he thinks this is his forever home.
