Hey there, everyone! I'm Thor, and I'm a calm, mellow, easygoing, people-pleasing, and affectionate taupe and white 72-pound Bulldog mix fella who was born about October 2021. I'm as sweet as can be, and my weight doesn't preclude my wanting to curl up in your lap! Although I get along great with the pooches in doggie daycare, I have been at odds with resident dogs in a home environment. So I probably should be an only-dog child. Also, I get along great with older kids, but I probably should not be adopted into a home with small children. Despite my jowly, formidable appearance, I'm a docile, loyal companion who's kind but courageous, friendly but dignified. I'm a thick-set, low-slung, well-muscled bruiser whose 'sourmug' face is the universal symbol of courage and tenacity. My loose facial skin, furrowed brow, pushed-in nose, small ears, undershot jaw with hanging chops on either side, and my distinctive rolling gait all practically scream 'I'm a Bulldog!' But I'm not lazy -- I enjoy brisk walks and need regular, moderate exercise to stay trim. Summer afternoons in Houston are best spent in an air-conditioned room as my short snout can cause labored breathing in hot, humid weather. In fact, Miss Donna prefers that I be adopted by someone who understands from experience that I may have certain medical issues because of my flat muzzle. For example, my facial wrinkles need to be kept clean and dry as they are susceptible to irritation and infection. Also, Miss Donna insists that I be adopted within Texas, and preferably within metro Houston. My beloved owner moved out of the country and left me with a relative who now can no longer care for me. I tested positive for heartworms because this relative had never bothered to give me heartworm preventative even though I was an outdoor dog. No worries! I'm already on heartworm treatment, which will be continued at my owner's expense even after I'm adopted. I'm just grateful that Miss Donna has promised to find me a loving forever home where I will be cherished like I deserve to be. Why don't you arrange to meet me today? I promise to be an even-tempered, devoted companion for the enjoyment of a family who is experienced with bulldogs. Thor is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, and microchipped. His adoption fee, which includes his heartworm treatment, is $400 for dogs over 9 months. An application must be filled out prior to adoption.
