Nakita is a petite 1 y/o, apx 40 lb. Husky saved from death row in the nick of time and sent to a foster dad who was hoping she would fit in with his current pack, but sadly she does not seem to care for the company of his other two huskies. Foster dad is also diabetic and recently injured so another dog in the home (especially one that isn't integrating with the existing dogs) is putting an additional strain on his health, which is why this is urgent. If we cannot find a suitable home for her, she is at risk of going back to a kill shelter. Nakita (now being called Kyra by foster dad) will do best in a home with folks who have experience with Huskies and understand their needs and quirks. A tall solid fence where she won't be tempted or try to jump would be ideal (not required, but ideal) and she seems to prefer to be the only dog so she can have all the attention to herself. If there are other dogs in the home, her foster dad can tell you whether he thinks it will work or not based on their temperament/personalities. She has gotten better at leash walking but she is a strong girl even though she's petite. She does her business quickly when on walks and is housebroken. Overall, she is very chill, and will sleep most of the day. She does take a minute to warm up to new people but she's very lovable and will follow you everywhere once she does. She loves her tennis balls and will entertain herself with one, but loves for you to throw it for her. If you are interested in learning more about this very sweet girl, please text/call Aly at 732-604-0625 or submit an inquiry and we will connect you with her foster dad ASAP!
