Atticus is 3-3.5 years old Was rescued from Pinellas county animal services in Decmber 2023. He was neglected and abused and was taken by animal services after police notified them of neglect (immediately), prior to us having him. When they removed him from the home, he was underfed, had mange, hookworms, and not scared. He is very loving and loves to be center of attention. He is somewhat serious at times and protective. He loves to play fetch and is a great walking partner. He has been semi socialized but not a park goer, due to not being a dog lover himself. The reason for rehoming is that he does not do well being in a house hold with more than 1 animal (we have 2 other dogs). He plays well with one dog but not our other. He has bitten our small dog a few times and then during attacking the small dog, he bit my boyfriend (his owner) very recently. We feel he would do AMAZING in a single pet household and he truly deserves that chance, the only aggression he has shown was toward the other dog and then during dog on dog aggression, bit my boyfriend who was trying to push back on him with his leg. He was neglected, like I mentioned and I feel that is why he can't be with other animals in the house, he wants all the love and attention because he was never shown that until we got him. He does great with kids and we have 2 in our household. We have a tween and a teen boy. Please let me know if you can rescue Atticus. He just wants to be loved and cared for. But needs an environment that is best for him, a single pet household. Unless we find a suitable rehome, he will be euthanized on November 6th.
