LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR'| I DO NOT TAKE SHEPHERDS TO THE SHELTER OR TO BE EUTHANIZED. THESE SHEPHERDS ARE WITH THEIR CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENT AND I TRY TO SAVE THEM BY FINDING GREAT HOMES FOR THEM BEFORE CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENTS TAKE THEM TO THE SHELTER OR TO BE EUTHANIZED! WILL BE SURRENDERED TO SHELTER ANY DAY! [Case opened on 8/9/24]. CINCINNATI, OHIO. (ALMOST) 2 Y/O FEMALE BELGIAN MALINOIS . Her name is 'LAYLA '. UTD on shots WITH record. Fixed. Good with OLDER kids ONLY. VERY NERVOUS AROUND YOUNG KIDS DUE TO POSSIBLE ABUSE HISTORY. NOT Good with dogs. NOT Good with cats. House trained. Crate trained. No known medical issues. MICROCHIPPED . HIGH ENERGY . HIGH PREY DRIVE. Currently on HOMEMADE food. Weighs 50 lbs. LOVES car rides. Favorite Playtime and Toy: Layla loves playing outside. She loves going for long walks and jogs with her Person. She loves playing ball. She loves to play Tug. She loves chilling around a fire. She loves to be with her person at all times. Her most favorite thing ever is to protect her home and person. Layla was adopted by the Current Shepherd Parent actually through my Service about a year ago. Layla seemed to have an Abuse History and was terrified and very nervous of young kids. The Current Shepherd Parent does have young kids and they have tried for almost a year to work with Layla in hopes that everything would be okay between Layla and the young kids. She loves them very much and is extremely protective of them, but she still is not trustworthy around them because of her fear of them. Layla has a bit the Current Shepherd Parent's younger son before and they still tried to work through this. She is too protective of all of the kids and it's coming between child care and working. Layla is a one person Girl and needs to be with that one person at all times to bond with and protect. Layla is used to long walks and jogs every single day. Walking and jogging proudly side by side with her Person. Layla will do best with an ACTIVE SINGLE person with NO kids and NO other pets and not a lot of visitors coming and going so that she can get the one-on-one time that she desperately needs and feel comfortable and relax in her own home. Layla is very protective of her Person and she needs someone who wants a good Guard Dog for protection and a very loyal BFF. It is time to get Layla placed in a home that she needs'| and that is (preferably) a single person who is active and takes regular walks/jogs, who needs protection and who has time for a great wonderful loyal companion with no kids and no other pets.
