About Raksha

This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only. Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. It's with a heavy heart to write this email and in hopes this email finds the right person. I must find a home for my cream color (blonde) chow chow. 'Raksha' (rak-sha, RAH-K-SHaa) was purchased (3.6k) for me 9yrs ago by an ex-girlfriend after my longtime companion died of bone cancer. The intentions were genuine but after our relationship dissolved it was left up to me to take the dog. Raksha was from a puppy mill which we believed later was the initial cause of her temperament (fearful aggression) and later lack of socialization was definitely my fault. I have to travel for work now and I have no one that can watch her and I can not board her due to her fearful aggressive temperament. She will bite strangers or anyone who hasn't taken the time to allow her to trust them. It takes a lot of time and energy to get her to trust someone. The good news is she is food driven which creates trust quicker for her. She is a great watch dog for someone needing a guard dog. Besides her temperament and high grooming needs she is a very chill dog in a quiet home with quiet surroundings.
