After heavy consideration, we have decided it is in the best interest of our family to rehome our 6.5 year old Male German Shepherd. He is purebred, AKC. This is truly a heartbreaking decision for us as my husband and I have had him since he was just 8 weeks old. However, keeping him is no longer safe for our toddler. We are looking for a very experienced, understanding home for our German Shepherd. He is a very loyal and loving dog to my husband and I and most other adults he is properly introduced to, but has specific needs due to his history. In recent months, he has bitten two people, one of them being a 10 year old kid, so he needs a patient handler familiar with behavioral challenges and to live in a home with no kids and no other animals. An ideal home would be one who has a fenced in backyard, can provide consistent training, structure, and possibly work with a professional behaviorist. He has really been a great dog for my husband and I, but sadly, just not a good fit for our family anymore. I full heartedly believe he could thrive with the right person who can provide him with the right household environment and resources as described above. Please reach out if you have the experience to give him the safe, understanding home he deserves.
