About Penny

Penny is a beautiful 2 year old pittie mix who just wants the love! She needs a home where she can get lots of love and attention. She also needs room to runnnnn, getting her energy out is key for this baby girl's happiness. Penny is very smart and responsive. She knows sit, gimme paw, lay down, and is mostly potty trained! Penny is also a ball of energy. The grin that she gets on her face when she is able to just run free in our playard... it will just melt your heart. We believe she is dog friendly, may need time to warm up and feel it out. And because she runs on the nervous side with new situations, your doggo would need to be ok with her nervousness too. We can do a meet and greet and see how they fit. Penny loves fiercely AFTER she trusts you... until she trusts you, then you = stranger danger. She will need a patient adopter to give her the time she needs to warm up. Please plan to visit her a few times to help build that trust (we think visiting between 3 and 5 times would work for her). And because new people = stranger danger for her she will also need an adopter to look out for her when meeting new people. On the leash, nice and close, letting her know she is safe. It will take some time and awareness, but she is worth it. She is loyal and loving to the people she knows and trusts, and will thrive in a home where she feels safe and comfortable. Her adoption fee has been sponsored for the right fit. What else can we tell you about Ms. Penny?! We think she will adjust to a loving/calm home fairly quickly. A home WITHOUT young children may be better for her, because of how anxious she can feel sometimes. An experienced adopter would be best for her, knowing that she will need a lot of exercise, and a little structure in place to help her thrive. We have also learned Penny is not a fan of water, lol.
