About AUNT BO

Chow Chow mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

STILL ALIVE BUT OT FOR LONG/CODE RED- DEVORE, CA, So Cal - 10/9 ADDED TO RESCUE URGENT and EUTH LIST for MEDICAL, CAN ALSO BE ADOPTED THOUGH! SUPER SWEET OLDER CHOW GAL 'AUNT BO' at DEADLY and VERY FULL SHELTER- ID #A806687 NEEDS OUT ASAP OF SAN BERNARDINO ANIMAL CARE- DEVORE LOCATION- found with a male friend who was already and sadly euthanized for space. Please help us find a good home or foster and rescue asap before she is euthanized too! Aunt Bo came in as a stray on 9/25 and is listed as an 8 yr Chow mix, but she may be a bit older. She is as sweet as can be and can be seen in several videos we have posted on facebook. The shelter emailed us, she is 'EASILY HANDLED, ACCEPTING OF PETS & TREATS, DIFFICULTY STANDING AND STIFF WALK.'. On 10/9, she began sneezing and has white nasal discharge and wa just placed on doxycycline, but she needs out asap as the shelter changed her status to Urgent, meaning she may be euthanized without warning. They had previously also placed Aunt Bo on some medicine to help- and she is still adoptable with a medical waiver. While she is not Rescue only, she likely needs and we are therefore also looking for a foster or foster to adopt. Earlier medical notes state, 'Stiff gait, decreased range of motion in hips. Slow to sit and rise. R/O osteoarthritis Vs spondylosis vs other. RX: Galliprant 60mg 1.5tabs PO SID. #9 RXj: Gabapentin 300mg Give 1 capsule by mouth every 8 - 12 hours #15. Consider spinal pelvic/stifle radiographs to refine diagnosis.' Ironically, my own older chow gal has a similar condition when we found her, and on the same medication and doing great'|. loving being alive, still taking walks. and so loved and loving. We hope there is a special person (adopter or foster) willing to open up their home for this very deserving lady. The shelter says she is about 60 lbs, and the poor thing needs some TLC with a very matted coat. Despite her neglect, though, she is sweet as can be, having no idea she is in a higher kill shelter which may end her life today. We are desperately looking for a caring home, or foster and or rescue (please note rescue groups NEED fosters) to save Aunt Bo in time. For direct adoption or rescue inquiries, please contact the shelter asap at (909) 386-9820 and provide her and also email [email protected] . Since rescue groups likely need a foster to save Aunt Bo, if you are interested in fostering, please contact [email protected] asap or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to assist the shelter with his placement, and we can try to pair you with a rescue to help or foster or adopt through. We will also be posting updates, additional pictures and videos on facebook at: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0ArwCCLGiNVFse8NpBNFLr8Hv5JjUGPSV9uYUv8gDyYBJoZpNzGoEMo8W5fnSxxzdl&id=783968124
