Maple is a sweet, spunky girl who would thrive on a large, enclosed property or with a person who is able to run her daily in a secluded area. We love her dearly, but unfortunately she has become anxious, jealous, and nippy around our new baby. We feel she would do better in a home with no young children, where she can get more one-on-one attention. She needs someone who understands and loves herding dogs and has a lot of patience to work with her. Maple loves hiking, catching frisbees, playing fetch, and cuddling. She has a strong chasing instinct and will chase cats / small animals if she is bored. She has lived with cows and learned not to chase them, but was not trained to work with them at all. She is extremely dog reactive and sometimes aggressive when meeting new dogs. Her aggressive behavior has been almost exclusively towards other females - generally intact females. She loves playing with other dogs, but needs to be introduced carefully and should probably avoid intact females altogether. She has lived around other dogs her entire life and loves being a part of a pack. We hope we can find the perfect person who is able to meet Maple's needs more fully than we can. She is such a loving, loyal, funny pup and we want her to thrive.
