Ethyl is a great family dog with one critical character flaw - she is fearful of new people and especially men. More on that later - I want to tell you what is GOOD about this dog. She is quiet inside the house and loves to be with her humans. She will engage you by bringing a toy or asking for scritches. She walks well on the leash and responds to several commands (no, sit, stay, hault, watch, okay). She loves her sister dog and plays well with another dog friend, and she meets new dogs comfortably while on walkies. She walks well on the leash and loves to be outside. She does not chew on furniture, although she likes to have chew toys around, and is housetrained. She would really make a good dog for an adult couple with another dog, although it will take any men in her new family a day or two for Ethyl to start building trust (I am a male and it took that long; now I am her chosen human). Ethyl is anxious at the veterinarian and meeting new people. She will bark or growl at men, and she needs toi be carefully controlled when introducing new people. She needs training we can't provide, as our life involves having people at our house often. Ethyl is also anxious when separated from us (i.e., in another room) when there are other people visiting. Please help us find a home for Ethyl. We can't keep her, but with the right home she could be a really great dog for an adult couple with other dogs.
