Hey there, everyone! Joey is my name, and 'happy play' is my game. I'm a piebald 10-pound Shih Tzu mix fella who loves to snuggle and who was born about October 2017. 'Piebald' means that I'm mostly white with golden patches on my head and torso. I'm a happy, outgoing, affectionate, friendly, trusting pooch who loves everyone and just wants to be loved back. Some dogs live to dig holes and chase cats, but my idea of fun is sitting in your lap and acting adorable as you watch TV. Imagine yourself with me in your lap, looking up to you with my big dark eyes and sweet expression. No wonder we Shih Tzus have delighted our owners for over a thousand years! Since we were bred to spend most of our day inside royal Chinese palaces, we Shih Tzus make a great pet if you live in an apartment or lack a big backyard because we require minimal exercise. Where ever we Shih Tzus go, giggles and mischief follow. I'm a lively charmer, and being cute is a way of life for me. I'd probably get along great with most other pets and well-behaved children who know enough to handle small dogs carefully. I guess you're wondering how such a perfect dog like me ended up needing a home. A Good Samaritan found me wandering on the mean streets of Houston. I was filthy-dirty and forlorn-looking, but fortunately I was brought to Miss Donna, who owns a grooming salon. My coat was in such bad shape from neglect that I had to be shaved, but fortunately it's starting to grow back. I'm fully trusting that Miss Donna will be able to pick out the perfect home for me from the many applicants who will want me. I hope you'll arrange to meet me today. I make friends easily and promise to be a devoted family member if you choose to take me home! Joey is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $400 for dogs older than 9 months. An application must be filled out prior to adoption.
