The Positive; We Love Rex! 15 months old, 35lbs, rescued from Shelter over 90 days ago (he was in Shelter from 3 months to 12 months).Rex was born Deaf & his Superpower is manifested in being the most Loving Working Dog I have ever met. He is a Happy, Indomitable Spirit full of bounce back Smiling Energy. Rex has been with me for over 100 days now, 24/7 much to the annoyance of my Pack, he still is overflowing with Puppy Dog Energy but when he is relaxed, he sleeps. Loves People, loves Kids, Loves other Dogs. He sleeps beside you like a Cat & craves being in physical contact with you. The Ideal Home is somewhere where Rex is the only Dog (because he demands your Attention) with an enclosed Yard, with or without Kids that he loves. The Negative: Rex can be Ball Obsessed due to being in the Shelter for 9 months left with a Ball in his Kennel - he thinks this is his job. Unfortunately I already have 3 Large, High Drive ACD's who are trained with verbal commands to work up to a mile away on the farm & rescued Rex on a whim (they were going to euthanize him in the next hour). Rex loves to hang out with us but he is not suitable for working at a distance, I am afraid he will wander off & get taken by Coyotes as anyone & any dog he sees he thinks is his friend. Already spent $700 at the Vet giving him a complete physical & making sure he was perfectly healthy. As it was he arrived from the Shelter with a Bladder Infection, not Potty Trained & Wild - after the first weeks the infection cleared up & after two weeks he hasn't made a mess anywhere. ACD'S are Bulletproof & very rarely need Vet Visits. Have a Thousand Photos to share of Rex, I am very reluctant to let him go & only to the Right Home, he is like my Child & has come so far from his first couple of weeks. Would like to verify the Home he is going to, he is not an Apartment Dog. Moreover I would gladly take him back if it doesn't work and if needed, would gladly do a slow Transition. He is part of my Family but for the Male Dog at the house who relentlessly bullies him when not supervised. PS. I have owned hundreds of these Dogs on my farm in New Zealand & trained thousands of Herding Dogs, he is both a Miracle & a Blessing to whomever adopts him.
