Alfie is an American Bull Dog mix. We adopted him from a local shelter over the summer. They weren't too sure of his story, but he was definitely extremely neglected and very skinny. The shelter estimated that he had as 3 years old, but we think he's probably younger. He's currently around 65 lbs. He is an absolute sweetheart. He is a huge snuggle bug & loves nothing more than curling up on the couch with you and pretending to be a lap dog. He gets along well with all dogs that he's interacted with & we have taken him to the dog park/beach frequently. Additionally, we take him out in public often, including restaurants & busy breweries. He is good in public, but he's still working on not pulling on the leash when there's something he's interested in. He's been really great with all of the people he has interacted with, including children who pet him in public places. Alfie is potty trained and he's gotten into a routine at our house where he goes to the bathroom on-command. He's had a few accidents in the house though. We have left him with our other dog loose in the house for up to 6 hours and he has yet to destroy/chew anything when we do so. He's great in the car, for baths, doesn't jump fences, and isn't food aggressive. He's UTD on all vaccinations (including rattlesnake & lepto) & he's been a good boy when taken to the vet office. He's also good on flea/tick medication until December. His training was pretty much nonexistent when we got him, but his basic obedience is improving greatly every day. He sits, stays, lays down, and his recall is good. We have him off leash at the dog beach and he has never once tried bolting off on us. He walks well on the leash, but he will pull if there's something that interests him. He has honestly been a perfect dog except for his high prey drive and aggression towards my cats. He also has shown aggression towards my horses, but he hasn't been as hyperfixated on them as he is with the cats. That being said, his new home definitely cannot have cats & I would suggest no livestock either. I think he would do best in a home with another dog to keep him company/play with him OR with someone who works from home/retired and can spend a lot of time with him. A good home is an absolute must for this gem of a dog. A meet and greet will be required before rehoming. Please text or call me if you're interested in Alfie or have any questions about him.
