Gender: Female Age: 10 months Weight: 45 pounds Details: Shelter name is 'Turquoise' Pet ID { 56285513} Adoption fee $85 and includes neuter/spay, vaccines, and microchip. Description: I met her on Sunday October 13. Low Food drive, Zero Ball drive, little toy drive. Easy to handle, but super strong and pulls like a truck when feeling 'pent up with energy'. However, she is watchful, alert, confident. Give her about 20 minutes of 'free run time' and she's calm, happy to stay by your side and 'surveying' the surroundings. Despite her typical pulling, she takes correction easily and learns quickly. Requires firm hand to leash pop and 'No!' to remind her not to wander/drag her handler off the sidewalk into the active street/road. Immediately learns to never cross that boundary again and checks in with you by making eye contact/engagement. Rock solid stability around people, tolerant of (small kids, strangers), taking it all in stride. She will give a low grumble if she senses any suspicious behavior/danger from anyone walking nearby. I had to remind her that it's fine to alert, but not to shout. Great natural 'watch dog' instincts! Ok with kids/dogs. Health: Clean jet-black coat (surprisingly little to no shedding!). Thick boned, sturdy, stocky build. Bat-like alert ears. (Typical Shepherd, she's going insane in the shelter and has decided to chew some of the skin off her left hind foot). This surface level self-mutilation issue should go away and heal once she's less stressed and in a home environment. Suitability: Great all-around playful pet for athletic/strong upper body strength owner (male or female is fine). Not a working or sport candidate but could be lovely active running buddy with visible deterrent benefits at night time (Stocky black shepherd looking dog, that nobody has to know is just a big sweet baby girl ;) ).
