About Mouse Junior (MJ)

Chihuahua / Pug
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. 1 year old male Chihuahua/Pug/Spaniel, about 12 pounds. Meet Mouse Junior or otherwise called MJ! This adorable and sweet dog was born at the rescue in September 2023 to momma Wisteria, a Pug/Chihuahua mix. He has a brother Crumbl Cookies that he is currently with in foster care. He is also brother to Lambie, Flan, Cheesecake, Cr̬me Brulee, and Ricotta. He's probably the most social one in the litter. He really prefers to be around another dog or a human at all times. Mouse is very intelligent. He is food motivated but is a little picky and takes a little while to train but eventually learns. He responds to both verbal and hand commands. So far, he's mastered: Sit, Stay, Gimme a Kiss, Go Upstairs, Go Potty, Get in your Crate - each one took only a few days to learn! Mouse loves lap time with all of his humans, also likes pets and snuggles and giving you LOTS of kisses! He greets you when you come home with his tail wags and a jump into your lap. He can be in a home with a small yard or no yard as long as he gets in a few daily walks. He has been to the dog park and prefers to play with dogs his own size but will warm up to bigger dogs if they are gentle with him. Mouse is timid around strangers for the first few days but will interact as he gets familiar. He is quiet at home and rarely barks, making him an ideal candidate for a townhome or apartment. Very respectful of other dogs and waits for them to initiate play. He gets along well with his foster sister dogs, does not ever bite or growl (except when in full play-mode), and LOVES to play all day long with another dog or a chew toy! He loves to go on long walks. Needs lots of chew toys and lots of direction around what is an acceptable chew toy-plastic or fabric items and anything left out is fair game until he is trained that it is not to be chewed on. Does very well in the car on long rides and easily jumps into the car. Mouse wants to go wherever you go! Mouse likes his crate as long as he can watch his human or is crated with another dog. He is crated at night and sleeps 8 hours with no issues. He is used to being let outside to pee every time he exits his crate, and otherwise, at least every 5-6 hours during the day until he is an adult. He is a darling, loveable snuggle bunny that is a loyal companion. To request an adoption application, email [email protected] Adoption contract and fee applies.
