About Little Mama

Pit Bull / Lab
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

What we know about Little Mama A005664: -5 years old - 40 lbs. - Female (spayed) - UTD on shots - On Flea/Tick and heartworm prevention -Microchipped -HW status- -HW status- HW+ (easily treated by any vet) Has completed a 30-day round of doxy and is on monthly HW preventative (slow kill hw treatment). -She would do best in a home where she is the only dog but may do well with male dogs that are mellow. A meet and greet will be required. -Has not been cat tested -This poor dog has been through more than any one dog should ever have to endure. Little Mama came into the shelter with who we believe to be is her sibling and another adult dog. All dogs were chained to dog houses out of sight covered in overgrown grass and weeds. All three dogs were malnourished and neglected. Can you imagine living your whole life chained to a doghouse and just getting enough food and water for your suffering to continue??? That was her reality. -She sat at the shelter for almost a year before she was adopted, only to get away from the adopter the moment they arrived at his house (out of town) and was on the run for almost a month. When she was finally discovered, less than half a mile away from the adopter's home, she was skin and bones'| again. It was decided it was in her best interest to come back to the shelter and not back to the adopter. Little Mama has a good heart and is a sweet dog, but life before the shelter was not good. She needs a patient home who understands her past and is willing to work with her to allow her to learn what it means to be a dog who is loved by their family. Could that family be with you?
