About Ninja

Ninja is 7 years old and in need of a new home and through no fault of his own. He has tested negative for FIV/FELV and is microchipped. He is overall a healthy cat. He did have his first urinary blockage at the end of the year 2023 which terrified me. I took him to my vet immediately to start the procedure to unblock him. Urinary blockages are common in male cats because they have a longer, narrow urethra. Cats do not drink enough water and if they're eating too much kibble which is high in carbs and not eating enough wet food then it can cause urinary issues. Cats mainly get their hydration from a high protein, low carb wet food diet since cats are obligate carnivores. Also, a water fountain for cats is essential in the home. They prefer moving water rather than standing still water in a bowl. That is why you'll see your cat splash the water in a bowl. Cats love water fountains because they're attracted to the running water and it encourages them to drink more. It's also a natural instinct for a cat to prefer drinking from running water. Ever since I started providing more wet food in Ninja's diet and introduced him to a great cat water fountain, he has not had another urinary blockage. He loves the water fountain and he enjoys eating more wet food. I do still feed him kibble, but I provide plenty of wet food in his diet. Ninja is a sweet and very laid-back cat who enjoys the simple pleasures of life. He likes to play with toys from time to time but prefers relaxing and taking a nap. He is affectionate and enjoys showering his human companion with love and purrs. He's loves making biscuits. He loves to make biscuits while sitting in my lap, he'll do it on my boob. He also loves to be held. He prefers the company of older children who are gentle and respectful with him. He is great with other cats, but he does best with less cats in the home. He may get stressed out with too many cats in one home especially if it's an alpha male cat that likes to bully him. He is great with dogs as long as they're friendly and calm, not constantly in his face. Ninja loves to snooze in his favorite spot on the cat tree or on his human's lap. He is an avid bird and lizard watcher! If you have a secure lanai/patio where he can safely indulge in his hobby is a plus. He'll be in his element, enjoying the sights and sounds of the great outdoors from the comfort of his home. I don't take this lightly so I want to make sure I find the right home for him.
