Sadie is an intact 13 month old German Shepherd Dog. She was given up by a family that couldn't afford to get her vaccinated and kept her indoors at all times. She was mildly leash reactive when we first got her at 5 months old, but was recently attacked by a chow that got off leash and her reactivity has reached new heights to both dogs and people. With proper introductions she enjoys meeting new people and dogs, but her increased reactivity means that our apartment is no longer the right fit for her. She needs to be in a home where she can be separated from her triggers while she decompresses and is more thoroughly trained before slowly reintroducing her to people and dogs outside of the home. She is well trained in the home and picks up on new commands easily. Sadie is the biggest cuddle bug and will follow you everywhere with her big doe eyes, always wanting to be involved in some way shape or form. She loves our other GSD and would be a good fit for sports with the right training. Her biggest loves in life are balls of any kind, chewing on a toy while you hold it, hiking, and playing in standing water. She does well with baths, nail trims and ear cleanings. To truly meet her needs, Sadie needs an experienced home with no children, no cats and no dogs under 50lbs. If there is a dog already in the home introductions will need to be done properly and she will need to be supervised when not in the kennel until she truly acclimates to the new home. She is UTD on all vaccinations, but is not currently fixed per our vet's recommendation. She was severely underweight when we got her and it was recommended that we wait until she is 2 years old to make sure her joints form properly and don't give her any issues down the road.
