LITERALLY LOSING SLEEP OVER THIS CASE*** [Case opened on 10/15/24]. UPDATE: WILL BE IN HILLSBORO, OHIO 4 Y/O MALE GSD (DOB:6/20/20). His name is 'CHEWY '. Background: BEEN WITH SAME PERSON ALL HIS LIFE UNTIL RECENT DIVORCE. NOT UTD on shots. Fixed. Good with kids ONLY THRU PROPER INTRODUCTION! STRANGER AGGRESSIVE SO HAS TO BE ACCLIMATED FIRST, THEN HE'S GOOD WITH KIDS. Good with dogs ONLY AFTER PROPER INTRODUCTION. WILL REACT/BARK AGGRESSIVELY AT STRANGER DOGS. IS GOOD WITH DOGS AFTER ACCLIMATED TO THEM. Good with cats. House trained (READ BELOW). Crate trained, DOES NOT NEED, GOOD BEHAVIOR WHEN LEFT ALONE (READ BELOW). No known medical issues. HIGH ENERGY. ABUSE CASE: BEING LOCKED IN HIS CRATE 23 HRS OF THE DAY. ONLY LETTING HIM OUT 10 MINS IN THE MORNING, AND 10 MINS AT NIGHT. Currently on DIAMOND food. Weighs 80 lbs. Good with car rides. Loves: (BEFORE DIVORCE WHEN CHEWY HAD A GOOD LIFE)...Chewy loves toys of all kinds, treats, pup cups. Loves to play fetch. Loves going for walks. Loves cuddling. Loves good boy pats on the head and lots of lovins. Loves his ears to be scratched. Loves chilling on the couch with his people. Loves attention and being involved and with his people. Loves cuddling. Loves being loved. This is an extremely difficult case to work on, I have taken the necessary actions to try to get Chewy saved from the home but I'm also posting him in case no one helps. I'm hoping to get him in a foster home very soon. Chewy had a great life until the divorce. Once the divorce happened, his person had to leave the home and moved into a small apartment where she cannot have Chewy. The ex-husband is at home with Chewy and is refusing to allow him out of his crate except 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes at night. His whole life is inside that crate. He also has another GSD named Pepper and they are being kept in crates across from each other all day, every day. So these poor Shepherds can see each other all day long but are not allowed to play together, ever. Chewy is a very loving boy to his people. He is very intelligent and knows Basic Commands PLUS, and also he knows Commands in German. He does need some work on his Recall. He is good on a leash. He is very protective of his family. Chewy has Anxiety around Strangers and is severely Stranger Reactive. Chewy does not have a good living situation at all and I'm trying my best to save this poor guy, and Pepper. Chewy is an amazing sweet guy that will make a great companion for the right person. He needs someone that will be willing to help him through his Stranger Fear/Aggression and not have a lot of people coming and going in the home so that he can thrive and be the best boy that he can be. Both the (ex)husband and (ex)wife are cooperating and working with me to try to get Chewy actually out of the home. He needs lots of love and TLC.
