I have been the primary caregiver for my Dad during his cancer treatment, but he just passed away. I've been caring for Kasi also, but I am unable to provide the necessary permanent home for Kasi due to my job, my changing schedules, and frequent travel. Kasi requires medication twice daily (in his food) for epilepsy, and he must remain on a special prescription diet for chronic kidney disease. He is extremely clean and grooms himself very well, and he always uses the litter box. He requires a compassionate and assertive owner who can monitor his health and ensure he receives necessary veterinary care and checkups. Kasi is an amazing, beautiful cat with a wonderful personality and so much love and affection to give. He also needs an owner who can shower him with love and make sure his medical needs are properly handled and he can live out his days a happy kitty. I am desperately trying to find a suitable home or (NO-KILL) rescue organization that can support his special medical needs and help find a new loving forever home as quickly as possible. I am in the process of finalizing my Dad's affairs, and I need to return to duty station soon. It breaks my heart that I cannot take Kasi with me. I can provide a nice hardtop cat transport carrier/crate (e.g., car transport to vet clinic); a brand new soft-sided ventilated pet carrier (shoulder bag); two (2) very nice cat condo/tree structures (5ft tall and 7ft tall); several new, cozy fleece cat cushions (for his hiding places), one very nice wood 'cat lounge chair/sofa;' a lovely new pillow/bed in round basket; dozens of his favorite cat toys; multiple new/unopened bags of treats; a new large bag of his Royal Canin prescription food; several cans of his Royal Canin prescription food; and at least a month's supply (or more) of his epilepsy medication. I may also be able to transfer his medical/veterinary insurance policy to a new owner. Kasi has done well living in a home with other cats, and he has enjoyed additional feline companionship over many years. However, he does not react well towards dogs; he is very anxious and frightened by them. He does not like being around kids, either. He is not aggressive. Rather, he is just frightened by them and he hides until they leave! Kasi can become scared and reclusive until he is comfortable around new people in the home. He needs time to adjust to changes, and he needs safe spaces to hide and feel safe as he adapts to change, new people, and/or changing or new environments. Kasi must have safe hiding places during thunderstorms and when unknown people and/or service professionals, for example, enter the home. Kasi has NEVER been outside except for screened/enclosed porches which he loves exploring. He has always been an indoor cat. Kasi loves having a screened porch to roam around, lounge in a sunny spot, and hunt lizards. He likes to nap in a warm patch of sunlight. Once he gets comfortable with you/adult, he likes to snuggle under blankets. He can be very social and 'chatty' (Siamese!) once he warms up to you. He typically greets you at the front door when you return home at the end of the day. Please feel free to contact me with questions and help me find this beautiful boy a new loving home as soon as possible.
