About Buckley

This handsome guy is Buckley! Buckley is a 10-month-old purebred Australian Shepherd that was surrendered to us after his owners had lifestyle changes and could no longer care for him. Buckley weighs approximately 44lbs, is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and is microchipped. He is fully potty trained, crate trained, and does not chew on anything that isn't meant for him. Buckley would do best with an active family, and with someone who is experienced with this breed and/or herding/working dog experience. Buckley loves to go on walks, rides in the car, toys that keep him entertained, and nightly snuggles. He loves busy balls, puzzles, herding balls, and busy matts smothered with puppy butter, YUM!. Buckley is very intelligent and has been learning manners and lots of basics in his foster home. He is eager to learn and even more eager to please. Buckley strives for lots of mental stimulation as well as a consistent routine, this burns up more of his puppy energy than going for a walk or playing in the yard, so this will be important to continue with for a successful placement. A fenced in yard is recommended so that he can have a safe place to continue with his training as well as play time. Buckley would also do best in a home with older or no children due to his herding tendencies as well as his energy at times. Due to his high drive, we recommend a home with no cats.
