Hi there! I'm a 1-year-old pup looking for my forever home! I've had a bit of a rough start in life, but I'm still a really good boy, and I'm hoping to find someone who will love me as much as I'll love them. ��%BD��%BD%90%BE My first year: Unfortunately, my first human struggled with some big problems, including a drug addiction, so I didn't get to experience much of the world as a puppy. Sometimes, she would leave me alone for days, and I got really scared. I didn't get the attention and care I needed, which made me anxious about being by myself. ��%BD��%BD%90%BE Where I am now: Thankfully, my current human took me in when she found out about my situation, and she's been taking great care of me! She says I'm such a sweet, loving boy with lots of energy. She wishes she could keep me forever, but I have so much energy, and it's a little more than she can handle. ��%BD��%BD%90%BE What I'm like: I love other dogs! There's a neighbor's dog I adore, and I'm happiest when I get to play and be around other pups. That's why my human thinks I'd do best in a home with another dog to play with. I also love being outside-my first home didn't have a yard, but now that I've got one, I can't get enough of sniffing the fresh air and running around. I have a lot of energy, so if you love to stay active, I'm your guy! We could go hiking, running, or just enjoy long walks together. I'm up for anything-except water sports. Water kind of scares me, but everything else? I'm all in! ��%BD��%BD%90%BE Energy and exercise needs: I have a lot of energy and need at least an hour of exercise a day to stay happy and healthy. A combination of physical and mental activities works best for me-playtime, walks, and even puzzle toys to keep my mind busy. If I don't get enough exercise, I might find ways to entertain myself (like getting into things I shouldn't or tearing up a few of my stuffy toys!). But with the right amount of activity, I'm a content and well-behaved dog. ��%BD��%BD%90%BE About my breed: I've been told I look like a poodle, but a few people have also said I might be a Portuguese Water Dog because of my curly coat and build. We're not 100% sure about my breed, and my human doesn't have the resources to do a DNA test, but regardless of what I am, I'm a friendly, playful, and loyal dog! ��%BD��%BD%90%BE Coat care: Whether I'm a poodle or a Portuguese Water Dog, I do have a curly, low-shedding coat that will need regular grooming. I'll need a haircut every 6-8 weeks to keep my coat neat and comfortable. ��%BD��%BD%90%BE What I need: My perfect home would have: A yard where I can run and play. Another dog to keep me company (because I really love my dog friends). An active person or family who can keep up with my energy and take me on fun adventures. Someone who is home most of the time or has another dog to keep me company. I get anxious when left alone due to my past, so a home where I'm not by myself for long periods would be ideal. A commitment to regular grooming to keep my coat in top shape. A family without cats-I love to chase squirrels, and I might be tempted to chase cats, too! I'm still working on my leash manners. Right now, I tend to pull a little when I'm excited (there's just so much to sniff and see!), but with some patience and practice, I'm sure I'll get better at it. ��%BD��%BD%90%BE What I love: Car rides: I absolutely love sticking my head out the window to catch all the smells! Belly rubs: They relax me so much I usually fall asleep. Playtime: I love to play with toys, especially with other dogs. Just be prepared for a few stuffy toys to get 'destroyed' when I'm bored! ��%BD��%BD%90%BE My wish: I just want a family who will love me and let me show them all the love I have in return. My human says I deserve the best, and she's looking for someone who can give me a great life with lots of fun, play, and cuddles. Could that be you?
