Jindo mix

Please meet our Ari! This beautiful Korean princess was rescued from the dog meat farm and has arrived in the USA looking her forever home. Ari is approximately 4 years old, 40 lbs (needs to put on a few pounds), and is a very sweet dog who is desperate for the family who has enough time, love and patience for her. Like the majority of rescued dogs, Ari will not run to you the moment you meet her. It may take her a few weeks for her to warm up to you and really come out of her shell. Ari is not a timid or skittish dog by nature. We consider her 'cautious' with strangers, but once Ari is comfortable and feels loved, she becomes very relaxed and easygoing. Great on the leash, Ari loves long walks and hiking. She has the typical higher prey drive of a Jindo, but she is very responsive to commands and instruction while on the leash. In the home she is a very calm, quiet, and peaceful girl. She is happy to just be near you while you go about your day. Ari isn't demanding of extra attention, and really only barks if someone comes to the the door. Ari can easily stay home alone without any problems. She is not destructive and she is not a 'chewer.' She is a very well behaved and dignified girl. Fully potty trained, Ari will require 2 long walks and maybe one short walk during the day. She doesn't pull when on the leash, and has positive interactions with people and well-mannered dogs while on her walks. When passing reactive dogs, she will remain quiet and by your side. Having lived in the a shelter for a while with many other dogs, Ariel prefers moderate tempo furry friends - not dogs who are too active/unpredictable or aggressive. She can be the only dog in the family or share love with another calm dog. We have discovered that Ari isn't very familiar with cats. Cats in a home may require an extended introduction period, and a confident cat will probably be a better match for her. Ari does very well in the car. Sometimes she experiences motion sickness (when she is getting nervous), but she will usually sleep or rest calmly during car rides. Living in Korea with an 8 year old child, Ari didn't show any sign of aggression. However, we think a family with grown kids would be a better fit for her. 'ۢspayed 'ۢvaccinations up to date 'ۢmicrochipped 'ۢHeartworm and Giardia negative Healthy and smart, Ari is an ideal dog for people who are willing to give her the necessary time required for her to adjust to her new environment. If you are understanding and have patience with Ari you will be rewarded with her big smile, wagging tail, happy face, and her true personality. Ari's previous life was not an easy one. This is why we ask only people who are seriously interested and willing to put in the work to apply for her. If you give her a chance, you will be paid back 100 times over. The unconditional love and loyalty of a dog is priceless :)))
