Hugo is a highly intelligent, very active Australian Cattle Dog (mix). Hugo was rescued from a shelter roughly 3 months ago and is estimated to be between 1.5 - 2 years old. Living as a stray for the first 1.5 years of his life, Hugo is still learning how to be a pet - but he's a quick study! He would do well with a family who can be patient and consistent in reinforcing his training. He knows: 'come' / 'sit' / 'down' / 'stay' / 'wait' / 'leave it' / 'give ball' and 'go to bed'. He enjoys learning new commands and is motivated by both treats and verbal praise! Hugo will do best in an active household. He loves long walks, going on hikes, camping, and daily trips to the dog park! At ( 2 years old, he still has a lot of puppy energy that he needs to get out each day. Fetch is his favorite (hence, 'give ball')! Hugo also has a lot of love to give. The very definition of a 'velcro dog,' he loves to cuddle, get belly rubs, and curl up near his favorite human(s). Unfortunately, he is not working out in our home, as our cats are not doing well with him. He would likely do best in a home without any cats or other small animals; we are unsure how he would do in a home with other dogs. Hugo is neutered and fully up to date on all of his vaccinations. No known medical issues.
