About CHARLIE

Pit Bull
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

MEET CHARLIE! He's a sweet young pittie, around two years old, who was rescued from a high-kill shelter in California not long before they were due to euthanize him for lack of space (this happens all the time, it's tragic). He then sat in a boarding facility for several months until our fosters welcomed him into their cozy Vashon Island home. He's 57 lbs and has a beautiful brindle color coat, soulful eyes and a big head. Charlie is a sweet, sweet boy. He gets along great with other dogs, and loves to play. He's an energetic playmate, but he's also good at reading cues from dogs who aren't interested. He's still settling in and finding his feet, but he's becoming more comfortable every day. Charlie is very friendly with people but a little cautious at first if he doesn't know them. He doesn't seem to be territorial, and doesn't have food-guarding issues. He loves water, and loves splashing around at the beach. He's also a bit of a klutz, which just makes him all the more adorable. Like all pitties, Charlie's a softie who likes sleeping on the bed or the couch, and he loves to lay next to you with his head in your lap. He needs some basic training (we're working on that) but he's a good boy who means well. He'd do well with an active person or family, someone who works at home and can give him long walks, or can arrange play dates with other dogs. He'd also be happy in a home with another young dog, since he loves to play. We don't know how he responds to cats, but we can test him if that's a question. Please email for an application
