5 year old, spayed, longhaired (shaded cream) female dachshund tweenie, weighs 14 pounds. The home I bought her from had about 10 doxies, so she is used to being with multiple small dogs. After I bought her, my vet tested her and found she was heartworm positive-which was unexcpected. I am 72 and don't think I can stand the stress of putting her through the heartworm treatment. Plus, she seems lonely. My vet says she needs to lose 2-3 pounds.
