Twix is a 1.5 year old, 50 pound Border Collie and Australian Shepard Mix. He is very smart and loves to play fetch, tug of war, and learn new tricks. He does well around other animals (cats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, etc). He is extremely gentle and loving with our family, but take some time to warm up to strangers and other dogs. Once warmed up he will be gentle, loving, and playful with other people and dogs. He can be fear aggressive until he warms up to other people and feels safe. We have 3 children (5-12) who's friends all enjoy coming to our house and running around, so this hasn't worked out well for us and is the reason for rehoming him. Having kids running around, other than our own, can get him really excited and worked up. When kids are running around his herding instinct kicks in and he wants to chase and nip at them. He would be best in a home without a lot of new people coming and going all the time, especially young kids, although I believe he could be better with additional training.
