Buckbeak is a lovable, 70lb, female great pyrenees / pitbull mix in need of a forever home where she can be the main priority! She can be a little anxious at first meeting, but gains trust with humans quickly when she's shown love! Buckbeak was surrendered to a veterinary hospital in Sebastopol due to behavioral concerns with other dogs - other female dogs, in particular - and is currently being fostered with me in San Francisco. I've only known her for a couple days, but as soon as she came home with me, she let her guard down and became such a cuddly, affectionate, attention-seeking girl. When I first took her in, I had my male dog with me (pitbull / german shepherd mix, 50lb). They did great together on walks and in the car, but sharing a small apartment ended up being too stressful of a situation for both of them, so my dog is temporarily staying with a friend to give Buckbeak some time to adjust to a new environment. At this time, I'd recommend that she goes into a home without other pets or where there is plenty of space for another pet to coexist! Happy to give more details here. This girl would be such a sweet, easy-going companion for an experienced, responsible, and LOVING dog parent. Sadly, I don't think her previous owners were very patient or loving towards her, but somehow she is still so sweet with people and has been so eager to be by my side. And since I took her home with me, I haven't heard her bark or whine once! She seems to be the kind of dog that would be content going on a long walk or lounging next to her dogparent all day at home. She's precious! If I didn't already have a needy pup, I would totally keep her. If you're interested in meeting Buckbeak, I would be very happy to introduce you!!!
