Lacey 1 %BD years old Fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed On Interceptor Plus heartworm preventative Beautiful Lacey is still up or adoption. She has lots of interest, but none so far have been the right home for her. If you want a dog to parade around town, she is probably not the dog for you. If you want a dog for a busy household with kids running around, she is probably not the dog for you. If you want a dog that will come every time you call her, she is probably not the dog for you. She is still a wonderful, sweet, and kind soul that could eventually become that dog. Lacey is a purebred Australian Shepherd and comes with complete DNA test results which indicate she is not prone to any major health issues. Although she is tall, she has a slight build and weight around 38 lbs. She also has a full tail! Lacey came to the rescue a scared, completely shut down 6-month-old puppy. She was so timid and not at all socialized to people or new surroundings. She has made tremendous strides at her foster home. Lacey currently lives with two dogs and a cat along with her two humans, to which she is very attached. She also is the best big sister to many foster puppies that have come through her foster home. Although Lacey was crated until she was house trained, she prefers not to be crated. She would do well if her humans were home with her most of the day, but she has been left alone for several hours. Lacey would benefit from more leash time as she was initially afraid of being on a leash, so more walks will help her confidence. She has not had much leash time away from her foster home, due to the foster's health issues. Lacey's ideal home would have a canine buddy to help give her confidence and a fenced yard to run and play. Lacey would be great on a farm or in a big, back yard. She loves her time outside with her foster sisters and would stay outside all day if possible. She also loves toys and bones, but she really likes to remove the squeakers from toys! A quiet home with no small children would be best at first as she has never been around children. She will need more socialization in different environments to encourage her to conquer her shyness. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body, just unsure of new situations and people. She seems to warm up to women more than men. Lacey is searching for her special person to help her shine. She will need a patient and dedicated owner to bring out her best qualities. She would benefit from someone who is experienced with timid dogs and who will relish the challenge of bringing out the best in her. Although Lacey is incredibly shy and is unsure of new people and surroundings, she is the sweetest and most lovable dog on the planet. She loves to snuggle on the sofa or in bed. She is always seeking approval from her humans. She will be a most loyal companion. Lacey is truly a special girl with a lot of love to give. Her foster will have a tough time giving her up!
