About Pancho- Urgent!

Why so many photos of just one dog, you might ask? Simply put, I just can't get enough of portly PANCHO (#A1783213), and I try to capture as many of his facial expressions and his silliness that I can. PANCHO was surrendered to the East Valley Animal Shelter, Van Nuys, CA, because his family, who said they got PANCHO from a breeder, was moving. He is 7-years-old and weighs 72 pounds (I did say he is portly). Despite his size, he is easy to handle. In fact, here are a few logged notes that handlers have said about him: 'Pancho was easy to leash, he immediately peed and popped in the yard and appears house trained. He trotted around and explored and came over for pets and treats. Will sit for treats. Takes them gently. Hes such a sweet older guy.' 'Had a very nice walk in the parking lot with Pancho. As usual, he was super sweet and friendly (tail wagging most of the time) and totally nonreactive to the dog we passed. I find Pancho to be an absolute pleasure to walk and interact with.' 'Took Pancho to the big yard where he explored and interacted so nicely with the dog across the fence. Pancho is so easy going and always seems happy. When I came over to take his leash and lead him out of the yard, he rolled on his back for a belly rub. Pancho has previously been taken on a walk in the neighborhood because he is so friendly, good with other dogs, and easy to handle.' But, one recent negative note has potentially put him in danger of getting alerted: 'This dog was groomed today. The groomer had a hard time keeping the dog on the leash inside the grooming room. Pancho was determined to attack the rabbits. This dog attacked another dog in the past and is documented. Will change to category 2, and will be asked to be Red alert. by ***' PANCHO might do best as an only pet, but for someone who is looking for an easygoing, affectionate companion to cuddle with and to take on neighborhood walks, you can't go wrong with PANCHO.
