About Jack

Meet Jack - He is 1/2 Great Pyrenees, 1/4 Anatolian Shepherd, and 1/4 Maremma Sheepdog. Neutered and recently given a rabies vaccination as of March 2024. On Canine Spectra 5-Way. He is on the smaller end, and was last weighed at about 90 lbs. Jack is great with kids, especially little kids, but doesn't realize how big he is. We recommend he be with owners that can easily lift 90 lbs. As a note, he has an environmental skin allergy where he currently lives and has chewed off the hair flanking his tail and on top of his tail. It is growing back. He is currently on flea medication (Advantix II), and has regularly had flea baths. Does great with cats, sheep, and other livestock. He runs at chickens, but if you have a rooster then he should stay away. He does not do well with other dogs, specifically male dogs. He also does not do well with dogs his size and larger, unless at the dog park. His current environment involves being on a small, open farm with other dogs, a cat, chickens, and sheep. He has also been exposed to rabbits. He loves playing with younger children, and warms up to strangers after the third time of regular exposure. He will let you know when he needs to pee outside by slapping the exterior door. Jack would do best in a fenced in area with acreage and a job to do, along with no view of other dogs. He does not do well on suburban walks due to protecting owner from other dogs, but has been exposed to urban, suburban, subrural, and rural areas (including a 5 mile walk through Downtown Seattle). Earlier this year, Jack accidentally bit his owner when they attempted to break up a fight between he and another dog. The other dog did not initiate the fight.
