About Maggie

Meet Maggie, an absolutely lovable Basset Hound mix who's just joined the LCDR family, and we couldn't be more excited to have her! Maggie is a 6 year old gentle, calm girl who's been adjusting beautifully in her foster home. She's met plenty of adults and has gotten along just fine with them all. When it comes to other dogs, she's currently living with four senior pups who range from 6 to 20 pounds, and they all coexist peacefully. Maggie isn't too interested in them, and they're just as uninterested in her-it's a perfect balance! However, Maggie's a little too curious about rabbits and other small critters, so she'd do best in a home without them. She's incredibly quiet-her foster hasn't heard a single bark since she arrived! Plus, she's fully potty-trained and can hold it all day without any issues. Maggie is still a bit unsure about the doggy door but is learning quickly, especially when it comes to using it to come back inside. With a little more time, she'll likely figure out how to go out on her own, too. When it comes to walks, Maggie is getting used to her harness. She doesn't quite understand that it's meant for walking yet, but if you call her, she'll happily follow along! She's learning at her own pace and just needs a bit more time to get comfortable with it. Maggie also responds to her name and takes treats so gently, better than most dogs. Recently, she had her first bath, and while she wasn't thrilled, she's smelling fresher and her coat feels much better! She might need one more bath to be fully freshened up, but she's a trooper. Maggie is healing well after her incision and infection cleared up, and she seems much happier than when she first arrived.
