Toby is a handsome, 6-year-old, neutered, male Great Pyrenees/ Anatolian Shepherd mix. He's quite a hefty fellow at slightly less than 95lbs. Toby has a loving, caring family, but his size, dominance in home, need for more space (farm or acreage), and a large working breed experienced owner is required for his new forever home. Toby has a bite history in the recent past but has been working consistently with behavioral specialists and veterinarians. Toby has also had a few leg surgeries in his recent past. The recovery from these surgeries may have led to the bite incident occurring, because of medications, pain and/ or anxious energy from his inactivity. Toby is inquisitive, sweet with his humans but also needs time to warm up to new people. Toby would be best suited in a home with dominant dog knowledgeable adults and/ or homes with teenagers. His physical size does not suit well in a home with children under 15yrs old. Toby is great with other dogs. He continues to have short and lengthy stays at kennels/doggie daycares. Toby spends his days in the yard and at the large windows of the house, being the 'sentry' for the property.
