Trying to find a loving and nurturing home for my dog/companion Shilo. My mom passed a way about a year ago and that drastically changed my living situation, I used to have a lot of space for him to roam free and a large yard for him to play in during the day and now I am confined to one bedroom with him and two cats while trying to get back on my feet financially. I see he is unhappy within his current circumstances, it makes him sad and anxious that I am gone and I think he'd be better off in a home that can better suite his needs. He is a very sweet, affectionate and loving dog. At first he can come off as hyper or even 'aggressive' but he is overly excited to meet new people and grow to love them. When he first meets some one new he barks but thats only until you give him a ton of love and pets. He's a great companion, loves car rides, vacations and walks but needs authority and respects those he can constantly learn from. He has never been food aggressive or aggressive in anyway towards myself, cats or other dogs that are introduced respectfully. He can be OK around kids but because he is so easily excited, energetic loud children who may be timid when it comes to dogs would not be the best choice. He also doesn't do well around small puppies, the energy is too antagonizing for him. Shilo is 7 years old (almost 8) and currently on a raw food diet that keeps him happy, healthy and lends to his beautiful coat. He's potty trained, formerly crate trained and functions very well inside the home. He doesn't chew and can be trusted at home alone. I would like to rehome him ASAP and am willing to do trial days/visits to make sure he is the right fit for the next family
