I have been individually fostering this cat that has been outside for months. They were heavily matted and visibly neglected but still came up to me and was perfectly fine with being taken inside. Since being indoors for a few days Sweet Cheese is eating, drinking water, using the litter box and cuddling every chance we get. I have been unable to find rescue housing for this cat since all shelters in my area are full so I have a vet appointment scheduled for 10/4/24 and will be able to provide more information past that point. Other than some mats I couldn't get out (will be asking the vet to help with that as well as check for a chip and general wellness) Sweet Cheese seems to be in good health and really needs a good home. I sadly cannot keep them as my own cat is extremely territorial, so they have to be separate until I can find a permanent solution for Sweet Cheese. Temperament can be hard to determine this early on, but for what it is worth they ignore my cat when she yowls through the door and has never bitten or scratched me- they seem like a very gentle cat who would do well in a moderate to low activity home.
