About Zoey

Meet Zoey, a 3-year-old spayed female Border Collie mix, weighing in at 42 pounds. Please watch her video!! Zoey is a great dog overall! She is loving, happy, house-trained, crate-trained (her crate is her safe space). True to her Border Collie roots, she's incredibly smart, agile and fast, mastering commands and eager to keep learning. Zoey loves to make long runs after a Chuck-it ball and she is terrific at bringing the ball back. She would probably be a star in the sport of flyball! Although Zoey has a lot of energy and is a very wiggly, happy dog, she's great at settling, too, curling up in a little ball for naps or cuddling up for the night. She also rides well in the car, showing no signs of anxiety. She's not much of a barker, but will appropriately alert you if someone is walking by the house. Zoey gets along well with other dogs when off-leash. She can mildly resource-guard her people, and will either need some patient training or not be expected to be much of a public dog. Her reaction level is low, though, and pulling her aside for treats when other dogs pass is pretty easy. And she is very trainable -- past experiences seemed to have influenced her, but she really wants to please and is starting to relearn. Zoey is showing that when given lots of love and gentle direction instead of being taught to fear, she can bloom. Zoey is up-to-date on all her vaccinations and is heartworm negative.
