This post is going out with a Hail Mary !!! Looking for an angel that can nurse this sweet baby back to health . He was baited. and tossed in the woods found by a hiker, brought in by ACO, he's extremely emaciated, covered in new and old bite wounds with maggots in them. Below is the FB post , i have a rescue that will pay for all medical care , we only need a medical foster , rescue can show you what needs to be done . If we cant find a foster , the shelter will euthanize him . Please text Kat 516 457-3678 if you can help . This poor dog has been through HELL and back. Gone Rogue Girls Rescue Inc. wants to help Serrano but they need a dedicated medical foster. Please submit this application if you can foster Serrano https://www.goneroguegirlsrescueinc.com/forms-amp-instructions/ They'll also need pledges for his medical care. Rescues need donations to save and provide medical care to dogs like Serrano. Please foster if you're able or donate any amount you can on the ACCT Philly pledge form. Can't adopt Barkus - but want to help his chances of getting out alive? Pledge money to incentivize a rescue to pull him. If they do, they'll contact you to collect. Money helps a rescue cover essentials like medical and food for however long they have Barkus before he's adopted. Just complete the form below (put Barkus ACCT-A-173068 in the first line). And please SHARE! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdvaYPcGEwNQ2_1oQlHbpj-1aYPKCuapqTG2GxNDccHJgQMlw/viewform?fbclid=IwAR263wOGwd9-zwgtgpUNVqtCvwoB-Ztz1nSHSzMTWpsTxlRdTlzISzOnN0E_aem_Abwn5bmxmCb3zdYEkQhKRiAWofG5744q46HI3YtmQtcEAYp5AdEFKUovQYbjzDshX8lezden4QXORUSY0dtcEFFd Serrano ACCT-A-177056 is a 4-year-old male who was brought in by animal protection officers on 9/28. APO's noted 'dog appears very lethargic barely able to stand barely able to walk.' Medical Notes: Per staff 9/30: 'per offsite hospital, he's comfortable and doing well, his blood count is up to 20 percent and he is ok to managed elsewhere per offsite hospital if they continue oral medications and slow refeeding.' Per staff 9/28: 'concerns are Serrano has hematocrit of 13 percent, very anemic and lethargic, old and new wounds, will need blood transfusion and there is concern he may have pelvic fracture. Requested x rays and authorized transfusion if no fractures as he is still on stray hold. Dr confirmed later no fractures. Requested 4dx which was negative.' Per staff 9/28: 'Presented as a triage after APOs were called for a dog found in Cobbs Creek. On exam, P is lethargic, subdued demeanor, but tolerated all handling. Eyes heavily crusted on both lids, some clouding observed on the cornea OU. Ears waxy, small lacerations along the tips. Nares clear, puncture wounds over top of the nose causing swelling and purulent discharge. Noted gums are pale/pale pink and tacky, noted dirt/debris in the mouth. 204 slab fracture extending to the gum line with extensive pulp exposure, 304 worn heavily at the tip, also with pulp exposure. Noted moderate staining. Extensive puncture wounds littered over the body, concentrated on the face, throat, and front limbs, but with several wounds on the hind end as well, in particular a laceration ~4cm in length running horizontally at the L lateral hip, with 6 maggots found inside. On front limbs, noted swelling and edema bilaterally, but particularly concentrated on the L carpus, which has a puncture on the palmar surface of the foot, just above the carpal pad. Noted a large area of wound tracking from multiple punctures on the ventral surface of the neck, down to a draining puncture at the manubrium, with significant pocketing and loose skin hanging in the area. Based on presence of a large amount of granulation tissue, wounds are likely at least a week old at this point , and many of the punctures exude a foul smelling purulent fluid, especially the draining tract.' Behavior Notes: Per staff 9/28: 'he is very tolerant and sweet and allowing all treatment' Per staff 9/28: 'Note that prior to sending offsite, at request staff did a dog meet and while it should be noted Serrano was feeling extremely poorly, he did well. He was interested in Cora and sniffed her butt with his tail wagging.' Videos: Serrano & Cora: https://youtu.be/uxzZxGC1DfQ?si=xFLGOl7h48B2kn0B
