About Archie

Adoption Fee: $350
Australian Cattle Dog mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

This mighty mouse is Archie. He is a Cattle Dog mix who weighs about 28 pounds and he is just over a year old. Archie has come a long way since being a timid guy in the shelter, now showing us his silly, playful side. Archie is house and crate trained. He also knows all about the dog door. Archie is a great passenger in the car and is polite on leash. He prefers quieter places, like less travelled hikes or quiet neighborhoods, and gets nervous when his surroundings are really busy. He will appreciate a home with a confident dog pal who shows him that it's ok good to be out and about. Archie is good with dogs of all sizes. As for squirrels and other animals'|he hasn't shown any interest in chasing. He may be fine in a home with a dog savvy cat. Archie loves to fetch, even more than taking walks. He would love a home with a backyard so he can have lots of fetch time with his people. When he brings the ball back, he automatically sits and waits patiently for you to throw it. Archie is very food motivated and likes to learn. Food is also a good way to introduce him to new people so he sees that they aren't scary. Archie warms up to women quickly, and takes a bit of time to warm up to men. He will appreciate a quieter type of home and no kids, just because they are busy and that can be scary. For his people, Archie he is very playful - he loves toys and is very cuddly. He likes to be close to you. %A0He is very nice to his toys and not destructive. He will sometimes steal socks and slippers and put them in his crate but he never chews them. It's kind of cute! Archie is not a barker, although he will alert when there is a visitor. He is very quiet at night. He puts himself to bed as soon as it's dark. %A0 Archie is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is located in SoCal and ready to meet adopters who can meet and adopt here. We do not ship our dogs. A home visit and vet reference are required to adopt.
