About Maddie

Location: Fort Thomas, KY Food: Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein Unique Medical/Medication: Maddie is deaf, her ears are still being treated by vet, needs on-going eye drops for dry eye, recovering from skin infection/fungus and monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention. This little sweetheart is all about the pets and ear rubs-as much as she can convince her people into giving! She wll also sit indefinitely on your lap--falling asleep as she enjoys getting treated like the pretty princess that she is becoming. A few quick facts--Maddie's skin is clearing up, her weight is improving (she loves to eat), she requires eye drops daily, and she is totally deaf. She is on a special dog food until it is established tht she doesn't have food allergies. Maddie is still learning what having fun is all about. She and her foster sister hang out together, but Maddie doesn't engage much. However, she is very dog, cat , etc. friendly. Maddie doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body. She isn't at all sure what to do with toys, but as she watches her foster sister play, we're hoping she decides to join the fun. She does enjoy chewing on a goog nylabone. Her potty training is going great, in fact, she will come to you and let out soft little barks which seems to indicate that it's time to go out for a potty break. Such a smart girl! Maddie would do best in an environment where someone is home most of the time. She is quiet, calm and doesn't get startled by noise, so she would make a great office mate for those able to take their dog to work (or have at their feet if they work from home). Because she is so easy-going, she will fit in with about any other habitants in the house, as long as they are gentle. She needs her environment to feel safe and secure as she is still unsure what this new pet lifestyle is all about--and she is not interested in roughhousing. She has plenty of energy to go on outings and such, she's just not always sure what is going on, so she needs people to be patient with her and understand shes's still learning. Wit that said, she loves car rides, going on long walks, and riding with her foster sister in the bike stroller.
