This post is going out with a prayer that Cooper's angel is out there . I saw his video of him in the shelter and it broke my heart and had post him , Below is his FB post . I know Cooper's person is out there , hoping reading this right now . I watched his videos of him swimming and hiking , what a beautiful boy . Please text Kat 516 457-3678 if you can foster or adopt , I can also send you these videos they say 1,000 words a picture can't . Cooper deserves his forever home , you can also foster to adopt . Let's get cooper out of that kennel that stresses him out . We have a special dog that we get in front of eyes and in a home. This is such a sad story and if you can share it to the moon and back, we'd appreciate it. My friend Jodi who is a behaviorist will provide training. Cooper has not had much good luck in his short life. He has never known the feeling of his owner greeting him after a long day away, or what it's like to Netflix and chill on a sofa, or even to feel the safety of a human who loves and respects him. I met Cooper 2 years ago when a lady came to the DCSPCA in upstate NY to surrender him. She was part of a rescue that gave up on him because they couldn't find a foster and could not afford boarding. There are many stories these days of rescues dumping dogs at boarding facilities or shelters making their problem someone else's. Cooper has never had a home. He went into the rescue as a puppy and came to DCSPCA at just over 1 years old. He's now almost 4. All of his formative years have been spent in a kennel and he has deteriorated in the kennel environment spinning most of the day in his room. His anxiety in his kennel makes it hard for people to see all the great things about him so he never gets any applications. I have learned over the last month of taking him out for several hours 2x per week that he is really going to make a great bestie for someone with a little experience who can be a strong leader for him and likes keeping up the training! He loves nature and being active. He would be an awesome running or hiking buddy for someone He loves water. He has been through a board and train program and his manners are pretty impressive. We are just brushing them up. He really wants to please and likes to stay engaged with his guardian He doesn't like dogs (was never socialized when young) but you wouldn't know it when out walking. He doesn't react to dogs when passing. He's too focused on his handler. He Loves affection and is learning to ask for it. We are building his confidence since sometimes he seems wary of new people since he has never had a strong connection with a person. We would LOVE to find this guy either a foster or forever home. If you can help him, PLEASE email us at [email protected]
