Sweet Pepper is a precious American Staffie who is between 12 - 18 months and is fully grown at 40 pounds. She's a petite princess and just loves meeting new people and other dogs. She's such a fun girl and has the most kissable face! We think she's a Pocket Pittie mix which makes her a perfect medium sized pup. Unfortunately, Pepper has a luxating patella in both knees and requires surgery. Luxating patella, also known as a trick knee, is a condition where the kneecap (patella) moves out of its normal position in the knee joint. She will require a 3 month foster (or foster to adopt) to take care of her while she recovers. Recovery includes lots of crate rest, and very slow short walks after 8 weeks. Aside from her tricky knees, she is perfectly healthy and will live a normal and happy life post recovery. If you have room in your heart to help this little lady please reach out to Long Road Home Rescue ([email protected] or 516-459-3509). Long Road Home will provide all her medical care, crate, food and any medication she may need.
