Looking for a Loving Home for Freedom - A Sweet, Playful, and Loyal 1.5-Year-Old Malinois/German Shepherd Mix It's with a heavy heart that I'm seeking a new home for Freedom, my one-and-a-half-year-old Belgian Malinois and German Shepherd mix. Freedom came into my life as a rescue, and I initially planned to train her as a service dog to donate to a veteran, with the hope that her sweet nature would also make her an excellent therapy dog. While I still believe she has the perfect temperament for this work, life has gotten in the way, and I am spread too thin to give her the training and attention she truly deserves. Freedom's Personality and Strengths: Freedom is a social, affectionate, and loving dog. She absolutely adores human interaction and has never shown any aggression toward people or other animals. She has a gentle, welcoming personality that makes her a fantastic candidate for a therapy dog or just a loyal companion for a loving home. She is also great with other dogs and cats. She enjoys playing with both and has been well-socialized. Whether it's fetch, rolling in the grass, or just being around people, Freedom's playful and lighthearted nature shines through. Training and Commands: Freedom is highly intelligent and quick to learn. She knows basic commands like 'sit,' and she has a reliable recall. With consistent training, I believe she could easily learn more advanced commands, especially given her eagerness to please. She is potty trained and has already mastered the basics of good behavior in a home. Health and Vaccinations: Freedom is up-to-date on all her vaccinations, including rabies, parvo, distemper, flea and tick prevention, and dewormer. She is healthy, active, and full of energy, ready to live a long and happy life with her new family. Freedom's Ideal Home: While Freedom is a loving, easy-going dog, she is also active and curious, so a 6-foot fence is recommended to keep her safe. She loves to jump and explore, so this will ensure she has the space she needs without the risk of wandering. She would do well in a home with a family or an individual who can dedicate time to play and engage with her. Freedom has a lot of love to give and would thrive in a home where she can receive plenty of affection and, ideally, some form of mental or physical stimulation like fetch, training, or simply enjoying time outdoors. Why I'm Rehoming Freedom: The circumstances in my life have made it difficult to keep up with the needs of all the dogs in my care. As much as I want to continue training Freedom for her future as a service or therapy dog, I realize that she needs more focused attention than I can provide right now. I want what's best for her, and that's why I'm looking for someone who can give her the love, care, and time she truly deserves. If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion who has the potential to be a wonderful therapy dog-or simply a great addition to your family-please reach out. Freedom is a remarkable dog, and I know she will thrive in the right home.
