Meet Mable, a 1.5 year old Leopard Dog mix. We are doing a 7 day trial with Mable, and unfortunately, we are not a match. She has a bit more energy than I am able to accommodate (chronic pain). We were going to return her to the Fort Worth Animal Shelter, but they told us she will likely be euthanized and said we could rehome her ourselves. She is an amazing pup, and will make her forever family very happy. She is so unbelievably sweet, happy, and goofy! She throws toys for herself, does full body wiggles when excited, and plays excellently with other dogs, big and small. We are unsure how she is with cats and children. The shelter told us she's afraid of cats (she freezes when afraid, doesn't run or get aggressive), and didn't know about children, but from our (limited) experience with her, she would do well with children. She loves people and is eager to please, she also loves to take socks, lay on dirty clothes, and 'collect' people's belongings. She doesn't chew them, just makes a pile of shoes and socks! She also already knows sit and drop it! She does walk pretty well on a leash too. She is very social and would do well in a home with another pup that likes to play, or someone who goes to the dog park. She does have a touch of separation anxiety, so someone would need to be willing to work with her on that. She is also nervous to go up and down wood stairs. We are working with her on it, but if you have wood stairs this is something that will need to be worked on. She doesn't have a TON of energy, but more than I can manage with my pain. She is up to date on all her vaccines, is spayed, and is on heart worm prevention. We also have toys and food for her. She is 39 lbs, but we adopted her very skinny, and she will likely gain a few more pounds. We have a collar, leash, harness, treats, some toys, and food to give as well. Anyone would be lucky to have her. We have completely fallen in love with her, but know that we cannot give her all that she needs. I am unable to do anything besides light playing or short walks, and my husband works long hours. We want her to succeed and live a full life, just like she deserves. If you have any questions about her, please let me know! We will be fostering her until we find the right home, and are happy to do a meet and greet! Only asking a rehoming fee to ensure she is with a good family, and preventing anything negative from happening to her. We are also contacting local rescues, but it is important to us that she doesn't go back to a shelter environment. She was very anxious when we first met her, and has really relaxed at home. She is a perfect pup!
